My pqrS freind once asked the five letter word given the clue,O---T. But being a tubelight and was working , i said 'I pass'. No need to spell it, but for those who can be a tubelight like me, the answer is yes, ORKUT, ta-dang! Every time you open your mailbox, yours will be filled with or filling up quickly with Orkut invitations and confirmations, scrap notifications and to add to it invitations from other networking sites.
When I got the invitation to join orkut for the first time, I found it strange, kept the invitation in inbox for weeks. Was it spam? Then one day I created an account, kept a low profile in the beginning watching out the ongoing traffic. Then it slowly picked up. The girl who slept at the bang of 9, started sitting late nights waiting for the dial up connection's mercy. Scraps, communities, more scraps, cravings for nice testimonials, still skeptical about uploading photos. I can' tell the pride, content and happiness I enjoyed while crossing the 1000th scrap milestone. Then came 2000th and 3000th. But by that time the trend in our college was to make it back to 0th scrap and start. Was literally shattered to part with my precious scraps. But i had to delete to keep up with the market trends. Agian rapidly increasing the scraps by tricks like splitting the lines, even "Hoa are you?" to three scraps!!
2-3 years went and now creating albums became the trend, hmmmm..this time I was out of the game, putting photos! that too on net where every day a new foul story takes birth..was out of question. Weeks and months went by, even girls started creating albums and one day I scanned my childhood pics and uploaded it, got wonderful comments, now daily checklist included comments also.
It's almost 5 years now, Orkut is like an acquired taste. At first not even bothered to check, then once a day, twice a day check, then it almost became on hourly basis, and current state, I am always logged onto orkut, checking others profile, pics, updating my profiles, writing testimonials in hope of receiving one! Hooked like a fish on a bait!!
And then few days back orkut turned into a villain or rather a kabab in life. Hmmmm!! I even started to skip food. Then I thought, enough is enough! bahut hogaya and I sat back there thinking and then my mind slowly and calmly whispered, Delete your orkut account .
And I pressed the delete button.
The end.
Epilogue
Trying hard to digest the fact that i do not have an account anymore and all my flattering, feel good testimonials, all "you are looking pretty" photo comments are gone for ever. Already attempted to create new account twice, but resisting hard to not atleast for few weeks( yup, thats my inner resolution, hehe!) and the Good thing about it is now am doing other stuffs like blogging, more interested in cooking and above all seeing my new interests my otherwise busy at work husband is calling me twice from office just like that. ;)

And thats how I made rice.
Thank you all for your nice comments and encouraging messages, am happy and gr8ful.
Its more than 7 months since i said bye to Chennai a metropolitan city towards the southern end of India. The train journeys to and fro Chennai and that "ladies compartment"...hho! i still cant digest that i travelled not once, but quite a few times. More than 50 in a compartment meant for 20!! NO wonder 'Indian railway' is making profit these days.
My 1st shelter in Chennai was YMCA, kottivakkam, hey dont think that i 've written ymca by mistake for YWCA. IT was a nice place with a big room for 2 with bigger cupboards and for giving extra company, 2-3 frogs, even more lizards and i doubt there was a rat too. And bathrooms...were always welcomed by beautiful renditions by frogs..hmmmmm. But there was always one thing which at end of the day made us forgot everything, FOOD, was really tasty. But after hearing more and more frightening stories, We shifted from there to home sweet home. our RRE.
Have patience, I am not drifting away from the topic. 2 big bedrooms, even bigger hall a nice furnished kitchen..all for us without any intruders from animal kingdom. Here the only problem contrary to YMCA was FOOD. We 5 girls were there, but cooking was a new art. Literally starving except for lays and some biscuits..then came brijila our angel along with her whole cooking range. Once again good food, curry.hmmmmmm
And one day, me and Smitha were alone at home, the laziest of all five, din't know the a-b-c-d of cooking, not even chai, not exaggerating. And we haven't had anything from morning except for water, and the previous day also dinner was for namesake, no breakfast, no lunch. It was 3 pm, searched the house upside down, nothing edible. And then we called brijila and made the most delicious rice i ever had. and here is the recipe.
* Take 1 cup of rice in a pressure cooker.
* Wash thoroughly with water.
* Add 1 and a half cup of water. Close the lid.
* Close the stove after 3 whistles.
Note: Do not forget to put the washer. The no.of whistles depends on the quality of rice.
We just had rice with curd and pickle that day. You can have it with curry also, but the recipe is yet another story. hehe!

Dilemma solved
You ll get a better look into myself if you read this post. That i am a confused little one at times.
The first post was easy. Now what, phew!! Oh God am I having second thoughts and that too this fast. Already i ve send invitations to my freinds. Ok, what to write. At this very moment i have every instinct to read other blogs and get inspirations(ahhheemmmmm).NO no no no no i wont do that, atleast for now. hehe!
One thing my friends always used to tell me was "You will never come short of topics, keeps on talking all the time". But see the irony, when i really want to tell you all something here, i dont ve any words or inceidents or topics. I am forcing all the gray matters in my brain..its confused between childhood, school days, college days..u know the usual stuffs. Lemme take a break from this.
Yummy! just had my own made chicken curry. Tummy reloaded, the numbed gray matters are energised too it seems. Hey, I did manage to peep into a few of my friends' blogs and found that a daily post is not required to keep the blog happening. its just the way you put up your thoughts and ideas makes the difference. OK, Now i ve got an idea of what to write in my next post. You can expect in near future.

The first Post!
Hi "Mr/Ms. Whoever happens to read this blog",
The very first attempt, din't even know what an article to be send to a blog was called. :) Thanks to blog terminology, I know now its a post.
My hands-on in blogging starts here though it's years since i ve heard about it from The Indian express, kids column. I thought back then that blog was just like a diary where we can write all those craps and rubbish like I do in my diary, I guess its pretty much the same still. I wanted to try when i heard about it the first time, but cudnt 'coz Internet was not as common and by the time it became a must in every household, I was @ tryn even newer things.
And this sudden urge of creating a blog, thanks to Orkut and Neetu Singh (not the Rishi Kapoor wala but a beautiful friend I met in Cognizant). These days I am a through n thru orkuttian and in her profile I saw a link to her blog. Then got the insight to create one for myself too. Lets see how loyal I m going to be my blog. Hoping to keep posting on a regular basis.
byeeeee, Cya...
